Pre-Procedure Instruction

  • Make arrangements to have a responsible adult accompany and drive you home. This is for your safety and the safety of others. This policy is in place for all injections. You should not drive for 24 hours after your injection. If you do not have a driver, procedure will be rescheduled.
  • Please notify your clinic if this is a work or auto accident.
  • Your insurance company may require a referral and/or prior authorization for this procedure. It is the patient’s responsibility to notify the primary physician to obtain a referral. It is the patient’s responsibility to contact the insurance company for any prior authorization requirements.
  • Please bring a list of your current medications to your appointment.
  • If you take anticoagulation medicines, please notify your clinic where your procedure is scheduled. You should also contact your primary care provider for approval to stop your medication. Patients on Coumadin require a protime/blood test the morning of the procedure. An acceptable value for this test is 1.5 or less. Please bring your results to the clinic the day of the appointment.
  • Do not take any pain medicine for at least 6 hours prior to the appointment. This includes over the counter medicines such as Tylenol or ibuprofen. If you have a question about a particular medication, please call 651-313-8250.
  • Do not eat or drink 2 hours before your injection procedure.
  • Please bring MRI or CT scan reports to your visit.
  • Please bring a picture ID and your insurance card to each appointment.
  • Be as active as usual before your appointment.
  • Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing to your appointment. Elastic waistband clothing is preferred.
  • Please notify us at 651-313-8250 if there is a chance you may be pregnant or if you are breastfeeding.
